Ministries of Rock Valley Bible Church

Regarding ministry within the church, we believe that Ephesians 4:12 outlines our strategy. God gives leaders to the church, "for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ." Therefore, much of our ministry efforts are focussed toward "equipping the saints."

Prayer meeting:
In many ways, the greatest way in which we can minister to others is by pleading with the Lord to help in time of need. We gather for prayer every Sunday morning at 8:45am in the band room of the school that we rent each Sunday for worship. Entire families are encouraged to attend.

Sunday service:
We gather at 10:00am at Rockford Christian High School for a time of worship, prayer, scripture reading, and preaching.  This is the one time in the week that we gather together.

Flocks:
Throughout the week we have several gatherings across the city in which we are seeking to further equip those in the church for ministry. We call these gatherings, "Flocks." They usually include a time of worship, prayer, and study of the Word. Each group works out its own arrangement for the children who attend (which are often many).

Ministries for Women:
We hold a monthy Bible Study for the women of the church.
We also periodically plan special events and outings. It's our purpose to show God's grace and live out our daily lives pleasing God.

Missions:
We are currently focusing our efforts on the needy country of Nepal. We have developed a relationship with a church there. Currently, we are helping them with pastoral training and the development of a children's home to minister to abandoned children.
