Ministries
for Children
Nursery
(Ages 0-3)
We offer nursery care for infants and toddlers from ages birth to 3
years old during the entire morning service.
Children's
Church (Ages 4-7)
We offer a children's Sunday School class for children ages 4-7 during
the sermon portion of the morning service. We currently offer this
every week except the last Sunday of the month. The children sit with
their parents during the music worship time, and then they may go to
Children's Church during the sermon.
Children's
Notes (all ages)
During the preaching time of our service, we provide children's notes
(and clipboards with pencils) for all children who want to participate.
The notes have blanks for the children to fill in and pictures to make
them more interesting. Immediately after the service, whoever is
preaching will meet with all of the children to go over the notes with
them. If they participate, they then get an opportunity to pick a
treasure from a treasure box that is filled with all sorts of little
trinkets for children. The children of the church genuinely enjoy these
notes.
Oratorio
(All ages)
This is an opportunity for children to be challenged in their
memorization and speaking skills. We meet three times throughout the
school year (Oct., Feb., and May) for this event. Children memorize
Bible passages, poems, or other written works, and recite them for an
audience of parents, siblings, and other extended family members and
friends who attend. We publish a printed program which contains all the
words of the texts being presented, so everyone can follow along.
Family
Worship (All ages)
We believe that the greatest spiritual impact on the lives of the
children attending Rock Valley Bible Church will be from the parents at
home. Thus, we strongly encourage our families to have a daily time of
family worship in their home. Usually, this consists of singing, Bible
reading, and prayer. Click here for an article explaining our heart and vision for family
worship, which appeared as a lead article in one of our church
newsletters.
